Re-magnetize Magnetic Jewelry?

It seems there is a new product showing up on some pages. It is some kind of a box, that can re-magnetize your bracelet. The only problem with it, that there is absolutely no need for that.

First of all, it is nearly impossible for your bracelet to loose its magnetic feature. It can only occur in some extraordinary circumstances, which you will never have to face in your everyday life (like extreme high temperature, read more about it here:http://www.physlink.com/education/askexperts/ae472.cfm) and usually only effects materials that are NOT used in magnetic jewelry.

no

All the magnets used in therapy jewelry are permanent, and have been magnetized in factories. Magnetizing Ferromagnetic materials can be done only in the following ways:

A. Heating the object above its Curie temperature, allowing it to cool in a magnetic field and hammering it as it cools. This is the most effective industrial processes used to create permanent magnets.

B. Placing the item in an external magnetic field will result in the item retaining some of the magnetism on removal.

C. Stroking: An existing magnet is moved from one end of the item to the other repeatedly in the same direction.

Obviously none of the processes listed above can be done with a box you can order via internet (or it has to be a very big and very expensive box) and use at home. It is an easy way but to trick people, who does not suspect it might be fake.

Please be careful and always double check before you buy something, not to became a victim of a fraud too.
